Mexica is an empowering anthem that seeks to decolonize the mind of the listener. Neither hispanos nor latinos, but mexicans.
Leafar and Dave want to let the world know their people descend from a long lost civilization: the Mexicas from the great Tenochtitlan, whose homeland was stolen and enslaved in the name of God. The official video is dedicated to all indigenous nations around the world.

Baptism Of Thieves is a very powerful and unique record in many ways: most musicians will make sure en entire album feels coherent and tied into the same package, but this isn’t the case. Each one of them truly stands alone.

Not one song sounds like the other and we are extremely proud of that. It’s eclectic and unconventional.

Leafar started listening to Goth-Rock band Christian Death at a very early age and naturally, the late front-man and vocalist, Rozz Williams quickly became a huge inspiration and overall influence.

Prayers ended up meeting Rikk Agnew, one of the band’s originals members through mutual connections which eventually led to this collaboration.

This single holds great meaning as it’s an anthem through which Leafar conveys the ultimate message on how he let go of everything he needed to, in order to become who he is today.

Featuring the ever amazing Kat Von D, who got a part especially written for her back when the song was being created.

This record in particular spawned from very dark and painful times, feelings of distrust, anger and hurt can be found all over the lyrics, carefully blended with Dave’s majestic background beats as memories of self-destruction and danger unfold in most tracks. For Leafar, growing up in Southern California between the 80’s and the 90’s was not easy. Summers were one of the most violent periods. More gunshots during day [and night] time meant it was necessary to toughen up.

This album can be seen as trajectory of the survival mechanisms and philosophical tools needed in order to have survived such a lifestyle, condensed into 5 songs.

After attending a show of his then-project, Dave Parley approached Leafar Seyer to ask him to collaborate. They met up the day after and magic started happening as If they had known each other forever.
Within just two days, they were able to create eight songs and that is how SD KIllwave was born.
